The New Blog!!

I am thanking God for Valentine's Day. Why?? I met a wonderful gal {Brooke Lien with Unity Stamp Company} while out to dinner with my hubby who has changed my business dramatically!! How?? She explained to me the importance of this here blog to my "word of mouth" business.

Then, I met another lovely gal {Angie Magnuson, owner of Unity Stamp Company} at an event at Glacial Ridge Winery. How blessed am I to receive such contacts, out of the blue? Seriously.
What was once dull... IS NOW FABULOUS!!! I went ahead and revamped this {blog}. You likey??

Scarf Tying Video!

So I had a dilemma about three months ago. I had this great idea to do a video of scarf tying to put on this here {blog}. I tried five different times to do so, but to no avail. The main reasons I didn't like the results were because a) I looked tired b) I had a huuuuuge bump for a belly and c) I kept running out of breath!! The joys of being 9 months pregnant. After returning the video camera, I didn't have the determination to set it all up again.

HOWEVER!! I am pleased to announce that I am going to *steal* one. {Well, it says 'embed' on the video, so I don't believe I am technically stealing.}

So here is the story behind this video: a lovely friend of mine from church who has blessed my scarf shows with her presence (and wallet;) a few times, told me about a great gal who has a blog titled "The Big Mama Blog" http://thebigmamablog.com/ She does 'fashion Fridays' and lately, the scarf has been mentioned numerous times. Aaaaah. A lady who shares my passion. It is so nice to feel understood;) So anyway, Big Mama posted this video in response to a friend of hers who could use some tying assistance. Thank you Big Mama!

Ali J Boutique Online Store Open!

Yay!! Our online store is open for $business$! What a task it was to learn how to do a store online {ahem- thanks, Wade} but it is going great!

So what is the plan with the store? Hopefully to keep expanding it! I have only 4 styles of scarves, in different colors, for sale right now, along with some clutches. The tricky part is figuring out inventory and numbers-how do I make sure I have plenty on hand without having a stock I can't sell?? It is all a learning experience, for sure!

Somebody Stop Me:)

Hello to all {three} readers- hah! Someday this blog will be worldwide... Hopes and dreams, right?

The purpose of this blog post is to let you all know that I am out of control. No- just kidding...kinda. I keep wanting to branch out into different avenues, accessories, lines, ETC!! And as you can see, I have already gotten into the bracelets and earrings- necklaces are next. I was under the impression that necklaces would be in competition with my scarves, so I didn't get any in yet. However, I have noticed on celebrities, and a very dear friend who sports my scarves all the time (ahem- Rachel!) that loooong necklaces work great with scarves! Pendants and "Y" necklaces especially. More inventory, here I come! I will hopefully have some great necklaces at the sale at {Deidra's} on the 19th.

What is after that?? I bet you can guess...HANDBAGS!! I know handbag parties are really taking off, and I do want to make sure I stick with the novelty of selling scarves, however... Let's say a lady finds a beautiful scarf she has to have and I happen to have a coordinating handbag? That is one happy, put together gal. Now, the research must begin- if anyone has opinions on the type of handbag I should find, please let me know! I of course have a few in mind... not surprised, are ya?

I would like to end by sharing a few pictures from the last sale we held, at Rockwoods in Otsego. The atmosphere was excellent- smooth, jazzy Christmas music, lights, and a wonderful hostess- my lovely sister Danielle, who manages the place. If I didn't make any sales, it would have just been wonderful to be in her presence, playing with scarves, and chatting it up. As it turns out, God *smiled* on the day and I got all that, plus ladies who came in to purchase. Most were buying gifts- and a lot commented on the prices- I have tried to keep them in "gift giving range". Thanks for noticing.
